Spectacular light shows could be seen by residents on Saturday afternoon and Sunday night as storms rolled over the area.
Hot steamy days were replaced by cool, overcast, rainy days on Monday and Tuesday.
Records taken at the Port Macquarie airport revealed just 7 millimetres fell in the 24-hour period up until 9am yesterday morning. Before that 11.8mm fell on the Monday.
The cool change won’t last long and is expected to dissipate today and the weather will revert back to summer type conditions.
A steady increase in temperatures is expected from today onwards with 29 degrees the forecast.

Tomorrow will see a maximum of 30 followed by another jump up to 33 degrees on Friday.
Today’s forecast: Min 18 Max 29. Mostly sunny. Winds northwest to northeasterly 15 to 20 km/h becoming northeasterly 20 to 30 km/h in the middle of the day then tending northerly 15 to 20 km/h in the late evening.
Thursday: Min 19 Max 30. Mostly sunny.

The weekend is set to have consistent conditions with a top of 30 both days. The extended forecast is as follows:
Friday: Min 20 Max 33. Mostly sunny. Winds north to northeasterly 20 to 25 km/h, increasing to 30 to 40 km/h during the afternoon.
Saturday: Min 22 Max 31. Shower or two. Partly cloudy, winds north to northwesterly 20 to 25 km/h shifting southerly.
Sunday: Min 20 Max 30. A few showers. Partly cloudy, winds south to southwesterly 15 to 25 km/h.
