Her message was an important one. To achieve a generational shift in attitudes about gender and equality, we must change the narrative with our children.
The external messages bonbarding our girls every day, she said, play a significant role in how women perceive themselves in society and their potential.
Positive, non-gender based affirmations for our boys and girls must be ‘heard on repeat’.
When gender equity is realised, it will be a time where our girls won’t have to be told they can do anything, they can be anyone, they can achieve greatness.
It will just be part of who we all are, without question.
