Losses of up to 10,000 are being reported between Bowning and Jugiong, near Yass, as a blaze continues to burn out of control.
Jonathon Burgess, the overseer of a property near Cobbler Road, said he had lost between 3000 and 5000 animals in the fire which has now spread to more than 16,000 hectares.
"The first [fire] has probably burnt about 1000 acres [400 hectares] and the sad thing is that the same owner of this property has a 4000-acre place on Burrinjuck Road and it is nearly burnt out. The house is standing and they have lost everything else," he said.
"I think they have lost most of the stock, and I would say a minimum of 3000 to 5000 sheep."
There have also been significant losses from the Yarrabin fire, which remained out of control after burning through almost 9500 hectares near Cooma.
