MORE space is on the way at a Port Macquarie rural clinical school.
The expansion at the University of NSW Rural Clinical School Port Macquarie Campus is starting to take shape.
The building project off Wrights Road includes a 108-seat tiered lecture theatre with audio-visual facilities.
The original lecture theatre will be split into two tutorial rooms.
Head of campus Dr Sandy McColl said the expansion would create more flexibility and provide extra teaching spaces.
Four new tutorial rooms have been completed and were used for medical students’ final exams.
Dr McColl said the lecture theatre would also pave the way for conferences and other external use.
The framework for the outside deck is in place and the roof has been added to the lecture theatre.
Health Workforce Australia has funded the project which is on track for a March completion.
