Port Macquarie Flamin’ Dragonboat Club will hold the course, which will cost $20 per person for four weeks. The joining fee also covers participants’ insurance.
Dragon boat paddling is a fast-growing water sport. There are different levels for everyone, from just coming to have some exercise on the water to competitive regattas, at local, state and national level.
Accredited coaches will be on hand to provide the necessary training. Paddles and life jackets will be supplied, all you need is enthusiasm. Anyone interested in participating should come to the club’s boat holding yard at the Marina, Bay Street at 7.45am on Saturday.
You will need to wear suitable clothing, that will get a bit wet. A bottle of water and sunscreen, hat, and suitable footwear is also required.
