New Year's Eve preview: What's On

IT WILL be tough to choose just what to do in the Hastings to bring in 2013.

There’s plenty on offer for all budgets.

Fireworks at Westport Park will be a crowd-pleaser for all ages this New Year’s Eve.

From 10pm Monday night, celebrate the occasion with a brilliant display of colour, sparkle and boom.

Bring a picnic rug and save your spot early though, because thousands are expected to head down to the foreshore.

The alcohol-free event is organised by Young’s Carnival with assistance from the Port Macquarie-Hastings Council.

Owner Margaret Young said the tradition was a wonderful way to bring in the new year.

Camden Haven residents need not miss out on such a spectacle, with the Laurieton United Services Club putting on a display in the area.

From 5pm, bring along the family for a barbecue, jumping castles, rides and slides.

There’s even popcorn for those craving some buttery goodness.

At 9pm, Bee Bop A Lula will perform coinciding with the fireworks.

The Laurieton Hotel will showcase live band Dazed from 8pm.

At the Tacking Point Tavern, Rif Raf is performing live from 8pm with two for the price of one meals, $5 cocktails and a jumping castle to keep the kids entertained.

Enjoy a host of live entertainment while tucking into a well-priced dinner at Tommy’s By the Beach in Port Macquarie.

A White Wonderland with snow, lasers, smoke and podiums is what you’ll find if you venture to Zebu.

Don your best white outfit to be in the running for some fabulous prizes.

There’s no cover charge and you can dance in the new year until 2am.

At Finnian’s Irish Tavern from 9pm, the Monster Boys perform live for free.

For those with slightly looser purse strings, Rydges is hosting the New Year’s Eve Casablanca Nightclub for $150 a person.

Ticket includes a five-hour beverage package, cocktail on arrival, canapés, entrée, main and dessert plus a salsa band, entertainment and gaming chips for the Black Jack and Poker tables.

Griddle invites you to slip on your Gladrags to enjoy its High Rollers theme night.

For $110 a person, enjoy tapas and drinks while soaking up and exclusive view of the Westport Park fireworks.

Sample a delictable seafood banquet at the Port City Bowling Club for $50, complemented with live music by the Brent Larkham Duo from 9pm.

Water’s Edge Boutique Hotel is putting on a special banquet for $115 a person.
