One Mid-North Coast student - Jack Skelton - knows he did pretty well in Information Technology.
Jack is one of just 65 NSW secondary public school pupils who achieved a "first In course" in the 2012 High School Certificate.
The Gloucester High School student studied IT through the Camden Haven Distance Education Centre with local teacher Stephen Evans.
But Jack is the first to admit, that it has not been easy to get his good results, and studying through distance education did make it hard to stay motivated.
Click the video below to hear what the 2012 award winners - including Jack - had to say.
His story will be in tomorrow's Port News
Meanwhile, students can see their results at www.hscresults.nsw.edu.au or on www.hsc-results.nsw.edu.au. Schools can also access their students' results through Schools Online.
If you do not have access to the internet you can call 1300 669 248 or receive an SMS by texting your student number, followed by a space, followed by your HSC PIN to 0427 555 999 after 6am tomorrow.
Students will need a HSC PIN to access results, and organisers urge them to find their PIN now to avoid delays in getting their results tomorrow. You can find your PIN online or by calling 13 11 12.
This week also sees the release of the 2012 HSC merit lists, including:
First in Course - students who come first in an HSC course (provided their result is also in the top band).
Top Achievers in Course - students who are in the top places in each course and who have also achieved a top band result.
Distinguished Achievers - students who have received a top band result in one or more HSC courses.
All-round Achievers - students who are distinguished achievers for courses totalling 10 or more units.
All merit lists will be available from the Board's website tomorrow.
Schools can also see the names of any of their students who are placed on the merit lists via Schools Online.
The HSC Results Inquiry Centre opens tomorrow and can be reached on 13 11 12 from a landline.
This phone service offers a valuable opportunity for students to speak with experienced Board staff about all aspects of their results.
