With just 20 days until Santa Claus comes down the chimney, more and more homes are illuminating the night sky.
You can win one of three vouchers from Bunnings Warehouse by registering your home in the Port News Christmas Lights competition and give pleasure to the community as they follow our map to decide which home they will vote for.
Registration closes on Friday so we can prepare the map and the people of the Hastings can have their say as to which house is their favourite.
Those with the most votes will earn the prizes - first $200 voucher, second $100 voucher, third $100 voucher.
A $100 Bunnings Warehouse gift voucher is also up for grabs among those who vote.
Les and Denise Graham of 3 Newmarket Grove have brightened up the night sky with their display for the past six years.
“We poke around for about a week, and I’d hate to think how many lights there are,” Mrs Graham said. She uses her artistic talents to paint the cut-outs on the front lawn, and the couple’s son also gets in on the act. The Grahams have eight grandchildren, two of whom live with them, and they love the lights.
When school breaks up they go out with baskets of lollies for the kids who visit.
Register your home by 5pm on Friday to be included in the Port News Christmas Lights map and be in the running for great prizes as voted by readers.
See page 29 in today’s Port News for details on how to register
