A colourful bunch of people turned out to tee off to help out our young stars at Port Macquarie Golf Club.
Thirty-eight teams of four – 152 in total – got out the clubs for a hit.
“Bunch of Builders”, captained by birthday boy Paul Marshall, backed up from their win last year to take out the event again this time around. The Coca Cola team came in second.
Auction items included a caricature of our swimming star James Magnussen
Challenge committee member Janine Buesnel said local athletes would be the big winners from the day.
“All funds raised help local athletes achieve their sporting dreams,” Buesnel said.
Port Macquarie-Hastings mayor Peter Besseling reminded everyone that nominations were still open for the Wayne Richards Sporting Talent Grant.
The grant is offered as a tribute to former mayor Wayne Richards.
Online applications close on January 30, 2013.
