Jim Dempsey will be commencing his role in 2013 after he stood out in a selection process which included a national advertisement, short listings and interviews.
Mr Dempsey comes equipped with a string of qualifications including a Bachelor of Arts and Diploma of Education and a recently completed Master Degree in Educational Leadership, and a Graduate Certificate in Religious Education.
His various past appointments include a teaching position at MacKillop Senior College before moving to St Joseph's Vocational College (now Newman Senior Technical College), where he was assistant principal until 2005.
In 2006 he moved to Taree and established the Manning Valley Campus of the Australian Technical College before taking a position at St Clare's High School in Taree.
"We look forward to welcoming Jim back to Port Macquarie in 2012, with his wife Barb and their two teenage sons, Shamus and Finton," St Agnes Parish Secondary Schools coordinating principal Jim O'Brien said. "Jim replaces Anne O'Brien, who has taken up an appointment with the Catholic Schools Office working as an education consultant assisting teachers and schools in religious education and in the spiritual formation of students."
Newly elected 2013, School Captains Ashleigh Hales and Andrew Newbound said they were excited to begin the new year with Mr Dempsey.
