There are just two weeks left to nominate an outstanding citizen or community group for the 2013 Port Macquarie-Hastings Australia Day Awards.
Nominations are being received in four categories – Young Citizen of the Year (16-30 years); Citizen of the Year (31-65 years); Senior Citizen of the Year (65+ years) and the Community Group of the Year.
The awards are an opportunity for residents to say a big thank you to local trailblazers who strive to make our region a better place to live.
All nominations for each of the listed categories must be submitted online through the council’s website. All nominees must be Australian citizens and live, work or study in the Port Macquarie-Hastings local government area.
The Australia Day Sub Committee will judge the award nominees with winners to be honoured at a ceremony on January 25, 2013. All winners will be invited to participate in Australia Day events across Port Macquarie-Hastings the following day.
Nominations close on Friday, December 7, 2012.
