WARILLA was crowned NSW State Carnival champion on Friday, after a final that went right down to the wire.
In fact, the decider at Port City Bowling Club went right down to the final shot, with Warilla just getting home over a gallant Goulburn Railway, 11-10.
Weather again played havoc with the bowlers, with the 18-end match reduced to 15 and then 13 ends to ensure the match finished, albeit delayed.
See Wednesday’s Port News for more on the final, along with a story on state singles champion Sarah Boddington, who was in action in town earlier in the week.
