TO state the obvious, Craig Thomson is a man under fire.
Whether you believe him or not, the Member for Dobell’s long-awaited explanation for his alleged misuse of union funds for cash and prostitutes only raised more questions.
But did he really need to deliver an impassioned address to Parliament on Monday?
Mr Thomson has not been charged or convicted of anything.
And he already has indicated he is a victim of an elaborate smear campaign that includes death threats and infighting within the Health Services Union.
Surely Mr Thomson must now allow the legal process to determine his fate, not the media, his fellow ministers or the voters.
He is still an innocent man.
Let’s wait and see what transpires.
