THINGS are definitely looking brighter for the Hastings Valley Netball Association.
Following an arson attack and break-in, which destroyed the Macquarie Park clubhouse in May, The Sporting Fund has now thrown its support behind the organisation to the tune of $2000.
“It’s great for the association,” president Kerry Austin said.
“Even though we’re a community-based organisation, it’s nice to know the community thinks highly of us.
“And, the fact The Sporting Fund looked favourably on us is very special.
“We really appreciate their assistance, which came outside the general guidelines.”
Despite the devastating blow to the association and its 1500 netballers, Austin believes they’re heading into an “exciting time”.
“The clubhouse roof has been removed, and there is no danger now,” she explained.
“We’re currently in talks with the Port Macquarie-Hastings Council and an architect and we’ll be viewing various concepts in the next few weeks.
“The future is very bright.”
