Sesame Street’s Cookie Monster was a special guest at the Lighthouse Child Care Centre to tell the children and their carers about a visit he and the rest of his Sesame Street friends will make next month to Port Macquarie.
In between cries of “Me want cookie,” and “Om nom nom nom,” the oversized character gave out hugs and played with the pre-schoolers who couldn’t hide their excitement.
Elmo’s World Tour lands on stage at the Glasshouse at 10am on April 26 and takes the audience on an adventure through imagination, learning how people sing, dance and say hello in different places around the world.
On the scene here since ABC tv first aired Sesame Street thirty years ago the gang of muppets has helped children learn how to spell, count and recognise words in an entertaining way parents approve.
Cookie monster will bring his friends Elmo, Abby, Cadabby, Big Bird, Grover, Zoe, Bert and Ernie and The Count with him on their journey through China, Zambia, France, India and Australia.
He gets in to trouble when he eats a letter of the alphabet but with the help of the kids in the audience and some of his friends he is bound to get through the ordeal.
Tickets are $29 and are available at the Glasshouse box office on 6581 8888.
