A WOMAN driver accidentally took her station wagon for a swim in the Hastings River yesterday.
The driver put the car into reverse, not drive, to head up the ramp after she dropped off a boat.
Only the station wagon’s roof was visible above the water line after the 10am accident at McInherney Park, Jordan Boating Centre and Holiday Park’s Dale Jordan said
Mr Jordan said the woman driver was visibly embarrassed and distressed by the incident, but was not injured.
A NSW Fire Brigades’ Port Macquarie station spokesman said a crew had been called to the park in case of fuel leaks.
