 Plan soon, foreshore

Plan soon, foreshore

10 Mar, 2010 03:00 AM
A MUCH-awaited draft blueprint covering Port Macquarie’s foreshore will be released in about a fortnight.

A spokesman for NSW Lands Minister Tony Kelly said the Land and Property Management Authority was finalising the draft plan of management before it was released for public exhibition.

The spokesman said further consideration of the expression of interest opportunity next to Port Marina would depend on the outcome of the plan of management process.

Investment company Ariadne Australia is the state government’s preferred proponent to transform a 2.37ha piece of land along the Westport foreshore.

The company’s plan is on hold.

Port Macquarie MP Peter Besseling met with with Mr Kelly and Land and Property Management Authority chief executive officer Warwick Watkins in Sydney last month.

They spoke about progress of the foreshore issue.

Mr Besseling said public exhibition of the draft plan would be the next stage in the process.

The Foreshore Lands Advisory Group – a state government-appointed committee – had input into the draft plan of management.
