Deb Fuller loses it for charity

12 Mar, 2010 03:00 AM
THE death last year of three friends inspired a Port Macquarie woman to lose her locks yesterday.

Fifty-five-year-old Deb Fuller threw her hat into the ring in this year’s World’s Greatest Shave fundraiser.

The annual fundraiser is an initiative of the Leukaemia Foundation.

Its aim is to raise money in the fight against cancer.

Another one of the mother-of-three’s friends also is

fighting the insidious disease.

“She lost her hair last week,” Mrs Fuller said.

The grandmother-of-two raised more than $2200 in aid of the charity.

The Port Macquarie resident of 25 years works

in the catering department of Port Macquarie

Base Hospital.

The hospital’s catering manager, Di Barber, took out the clippers and did the honours.

Mrs Fuller thanked Brett Lyon, from the hospital’s catering department, and Robert Fuller, from Macleay Valley Transport, for their help and colleagues and friends for their financial support.

Off it comes: Di Barber takes to Deb Fuller’s locks, but it was all in the name of charity, at Port Macquarie Base Hospital.
