Climate change on the agenda

13 Nov, 2007 11:00 PM
CANDIDATES for the federal seat of Lyne will be put to the climate change test at a forum in Port Macquarie tonight.

Residents joined a national day of action on Sunday and walked against warming to express their concern about global warming.

Now they have put the issue back to candidates running in the November 24 federal election.

The Hastings branch of Climate Change Australia is hosting the forum at Westport Club between 6pm and 7.30pm.

One question coordinator Jem Hansen will ask is:

l What do you understand by the terms "climate change" and "global warming"? Do you accept they are real and threaten our security and way of life?

The forum is open to the public and free.
