The victim attended the party at a motel in Lake Cathie on Saturday.

At 1.30am the victim was in the car park talking to a friend.

The next thing he remembered was waking up and people standing around him, police said.

The victim was allegedly “king hit” by another male.

He was taken to hospital with a fractured cheekbone which required surgery. There were witnesses to the incident and police are continuing investigations.
