We are pleased to announce that Round 1 of the Australian Martial Arts Championships (AMAC), NSW – Port Macquarie Region will take place on Sunday, 15 May 2011 at Camden Haven High School, Valley View Rd, Laurieton NSW.
This is a Multi-Styles Tournament with Athletes from Kung Fu, Karate, Tae Kwon Do, Kempo, Kendo, Hapkido and many other Styles from across the Mid North Coast and Regional NSW competing on the day. Divisions will include Points Sparring, Freestyle Sparring, Sumo, Sword Combat, Showmanship, Weapons, and of course Full Contact Sparring.
AMAC is the Australian Branch, and Flagship of the World Martial Arts Championships (WMAC). AMAC has been in operation since 1993, and across Australia since 2008. AMAC currently runs over 20 Tournaments throughout the year in five Australian States (NSW, QLD, VIC, SA and the ACT), including a number of Regional Tournaments.
This year Athlete’s from Australia have the opportunity to compete in New Zealand with Tournaments being held in Auckland and Wellington under the WMAC banner.
We would also like to announce that Queensland has been chosen to Host the 2011 Australian Titles. AMAC/ WMAC President, Peter Mylonas said “Queensland was chosen to Host the 2011 Australian Titles in recognition of the growing support of Athletes from Queensland competing at both a Regional and National Level”.
Doors at Camden Haven High School will open for Athlete Registration at 8.30 am. Traditional Bow In for Officials and Athletes will take place at 9 am.
